It looks like there is even more development on the horizon in South Boston. Charlie Damrell LLC is proposing a 120 unit mix-use building according to the Boston Herald. The warehouse is within walking distance to both the Andrew Square T Station and Broadway T Station. The new development, which would include 105,000 square feet, would have 55 garage parking spaces and approximately 5,000 square feet of retail space. The two-story brick warehouse was sold for $4.2 million to Charlie Damrell LLC in April 2017, according to filings with the Suffolk County Registry.

Tom English's of Dorchester will eventually be replaced by a 5 story building with 38 residential units. Plans have been filed for 951-951A Dorchester Avenue by developer Adam Sarbaugh. Part of the plans for the building include a restaurant and market on the ground floor. There will also be 26 parking spots available. Stay tuned about more from this mixed use development!
A local Dorchester developer is looking into two parcels of land close to the Four Corners Commuter Rail Station. The proposed building would be a 27-unit residential building. This would be a five story building that would bring more people to the neighborhood. 23 of the units would be at market rate and four would be considered affordable to low or moderate income residents. The units would include nine studios, 12 one-bedroom units, five two-bedroom units with a range of 500-1,160 sq. ft. This would also include enclosed parking, a bike room, lounge, community room, and large open space in the back of the units. The developer is currently seeking zoning relief, so stay tuned as this proposals plans continue to unfold.
Gregory Murphy has applied to the town of Hingham for permission to put up a three-story building, but members of the board are not totally sold yet. Murphy has applied to build a three-story, mixed-up building at 6 Station Street. The proposed development has 4,800 sq. ft. of commercial space on the ground floor with 8 two-bedroom units above a 16 space parking structure. The lot proposed is across the street from Station 27 Hair Salon and Sub Galley, and down the street from the retail building at 132 North St., which Murphy owns. Many business owners and residents are concerned with the traffic patterns and the aesthetics of how the building will look. Murphy has altered plans for this building a few times, but concerned neighbors are bringing things
There are 5 eye catching developments that will be making head way this year in the Dorchester neighborhoods.
The old Boston Globe site will be converted into an life sciences and technology office complex. There will be restaurants, retail and potentially a craft brewery, but no residential units.
Dot Block will be a mixed used development featuring 10 different buildings, over 360 residential units, 450 parking spaces and over 400,000 sq. ft. of retail space. This is the biggest single development project in Dorchester to date.
Talbot Avenue has proposed a mixed-use development featuring 40 residences located steps from Dorchester’s Peabody Square. Details are still unclear about this new proposed project - so stay tuned!
The City of Boston's Board of Appeals approved the development for 87-93 West Broadway. The space currently houses the Gulf Gas Station on the corner of A and West Broadway. This will be replaced by a residential complex with 65 units and 88 parking spaces in a garage. There will also be retail and restaurant space on the ground floor of the building. The development will also feature private roof decks in 9 of the units and communal green space. Construction is set to begin in the spring of 2018.
