When buying a home, there are a lot of different terms, steps, and documents that need to be handled. We asked our friends at Fairway Mortgage to breakdown two terms that people often get confused during the buying process. Pre-approved and pre-qualified might sound the same but they are in fact very different.

pre-approval is determined after a more in-depth analysis of your income, expenses, assets, liabilities and credit score by the lender. Generally, documentation is provided by the borrower for all of the above items so that the lender can verify all of the information. After months of construction, Caffè Nero on West Broadway is finally visible to South Boston residents and visitors. The London based coffee chain has been busy expanding to many Boston and suburb locations. With a "Now Hiring" sign hanging in the window, it seems like their doors will be opening shortly. Caffe Nero will be a great spot for breakfast and lunch, and offers everything from muffins and scones, delicious salads and sandwiches and of course coffee. Hopefully we will have an opening date soon on this coveted project and location!

Sound familiar? Reebok International is moving their headquarters to the Seaport. The 220,000 sq. ft. offices will be at 25 Drydock Ave, which is at the Innovation and Design building. The company is set to move this fall. The space will feature an "alternative activity-based work zone" as well as a work cafe, and stadium style bleacher seating for viewing various events. Their headquarters is currently in Canton, MA but President Matt O'Toole said that the innovation of the Seaport was just too hard to pass up. With Amazon, Vertex, GE and countless others just down the street, Reebok will be in great company. We can't wait to see how the space turns out this fall!

Last week, Amazon confirmed it will be leasing space in Fort Point and plans to hire 900 new workers. The new office is not expected to open until 2018, but Amazon will be hiring in the area. Mayor Marty Walsh said "{Amazon} will take advantage of the diversity, the experience and the talent that we have in the city of Boston." Amazon currently has two offices, one in Back Bay and the other in Cambridge. It plans on keeping both offices open, and using the power that Cambridge has had to succeed in other parts of the city. Many are excited about the new Seaport location, which will be close to the GE offices as well. We are excited to see more as this story and these companies take shape in our own neighborhood.

A developer has submitted plans to build a hotel on 246-248 Dorchester Ave, which currently houses Enterprise-Rent-A-Car. According to the plans, an 8-story hotel would be built on the half acre lot. The designs show a setback on the upper two floors in order to conform to community and the surroundings of the neighborhood. It looks like this area will be experiencing a lot of changes with the W 5th Street development in the works as well. Stay tuned as more develops with this story!
