In 2016, Boston will host its first ever Indy Car Race. The race will take place Labor Day weekend in the Seaport District, beginning on the bypass road in South Boston and ending on D Street. Ken Brissette, Boston Director of Tourism, Sports and Entertainment, is predicting the weekend-long event will bring in over 250,000 tourists to the city of Boston and the hope is to make this into an annual event. The race is a great opportunity to showcase the rapid development that has been taking place in Boston's fastest-growing neighborhood.
DJ Properrties LLC has filed a letter of intent with the city of Boston to build a 735,000-square-foot mixed-use development on five acres in South Boston near Andrew Square. The development will have eight new buildings across six blocks at the intersection of Dorchester Street and Old Colony Avenue. There will be 658,000 square feet of residential space, 77,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space including a grocery store, retail, full-service restaurants with outdoor seating and 1.4 acres of public open space. Now is the time to invest in Andrew Square!
